Horse figure after model form Tågaborgshöjden, Helsingborg, Skåne, Sweden. Bronze Age. Length approx. 10 cm.
The horses were discovered in 1885 during the construction of a bicycle path in Tågaborg, at what is now Karl X Gustavsgatan 14. In addition to the horses, two socketed axes, a pole staff, and four spearheads were found, and according to a 1903 report by Carl Wibling, a bronze disc the size of a spade blade as well as remains of a bronze vehicle were also discovered – suggesting that the find may originally have constituted a so-called sun chariot.
