God figure ‘Birdhuman’ form Glasbacka, Faurås district Halland, 800–700 B.C. Made of brass with a height of approx. 10 cm.
Description
The hollow socket was found in Glasbacka, Ljungby parish in Halland. The figure is a combination of human and bird – with human-like eyes, mouth, and chin, while the forehead is shaped like a bird’s beak. It may have been attached to a processional staff.
