Warrior pendant, brass
Pendant made of brass, shaped like a man’s face with a loop on the crown of the head. A bird with outstretched wings sits on the head, its beak gripping the bridge of the nose and its claws clutching the ears. The motif can be interpreted as a helmet, where the flat nose serves as a nasal guard, while the bird’s wings and claws form decorative elements of the helmet. The original find is made of silver, and dates back to the Viking Age, found in a grave in Aska, Hagebyhöga parish, Östergötland, Sweden.
