Frey

Figure depicting the Viking god Freyr. The original figure was discovered in 1904 as a stray find in a garden at Rällinge Farm, Lunda Parish, Södermanland. The figure is approximately 9 cm tall. Storage bag included.

The figure portrays a seated, naked male with a conical headpiece and a prominent phallic symbol. Beneath the prominent nose, upturned mustaches extend toward the earlobes. With his right hand, he grasps his long pointed beard, as if stroking or pulling it. A sturdy arm ring adorns his right wrist. The left arm is broken off at the elbow. Freyr is associated with fertility, prosperity, and abundance.
